DART (Declining, Ageing and Regional Transformation)

As part of the DART project, funded by the INTERREG IVC programme, 13 European regions from eleven member states came together between spring 2010 and the end of 2012 to share examples of solutions for addressing demographic change and its consequences. The main focus was on the sectors of: traditional and innovative economy; education, lifelong learning and the jobs market; health care & social services. A total of 89 themed projects, methods and approaches were introduced and assessed during joint workshops. The most interesting of these ideas were presented and discussed at three specialist conferences in front of a wider audience of experts.

HoNCAB

The HoNCAB project (Hospital Network for Care Across Borders) is co-financed by the European Commission (Executive Agency for Health & Consumers). The intention is to develop a better understanding of the financial and organisational challenges that can arise when patients are treated outside of their own countries. As part of the project a pilot network of hospitals was created to enable practical experience to be shared, as well as any problems and solutions relating to cross-border health care provision between the member states.
